Blizzard Entertainment has just announced the new Diablo 4 event, Lunar Awakening, in celebration of the Lunar New Year. In this comprehensive guide, we'll go through essential details of the event, covering its release date, rewards, Lunar Shrines, and more.

About the Lunar Awakening Event in Diablo

A mysterious phenomenon has taken over the shrines of Sanctuary. Those who celebrate believe these manifestations are the blessings of their ancestors.

• Diablo 4 players have to find and activate Lunar Shrines found throughout all areas and activities within Sanctuary.
• While active, Diablo fans will get a 50% bonus XP (multiplicative), a 30% increase in movement speed, various buffs, all while earning Ancestors' Favor reputation.

What is Ancestor's Favor?

Go to Ked Bardu, and head to the northern section of town where you'll meet Ying-Yue, the leader of the Lunar Night Market—the central hub for Lunar Awakening. Here, players can exchange Ancestor's Favor reputation for Lunar Renewal-themed rewards.

• Activating shrines and defeating monsters will earn Diablo players Ancestors' Favor reputation.

During this Diablo 4 event, Nightmare Dungeon Sigils may have an Ancestor's Favor dungeon affix, ensuring only Lunar Shrines spawn for that dungeon. Upon completing the dungeon, players receive a 10% bonus Glyph XP.

What are Lunar Shrines?

During the Lunar Awakening event in Diablo 4, certain shrines are replaced with Lunar Shrines. These shrines have updated appearances and bonuses.

Augmented Lunar Shrine Effects:

• Artillery Shrine: Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
• Blast Wave Shrine: Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
• Channeling Shrine: Increased attack speed and a chance to reset cooldowns.
• Conduit Shrine: Summons frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
• Greed Shrine: Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin; 25 kills summon one, and 50 kills summon a second.
• Lethal Shrine: Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters. Note: excludes Bosses and other Players.
• Protection Shrine: Reflects all incoming damage, with reflected damage scaling with Level and World Tier.

Lunar Awakening Event Release Date

The Lunar Awakening Event starts on February 6 at 10 a.m. and ends on February 20 at 10 a.m. PST, available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms in Diablo 4.
