What is Eiichiro Oda's Monsters About?
Monsters focuses on the legendary samurai Ryuma and other characters like fellow swordsman Cyrano and a young dragon attack survivor named Freya. The story is set in Wano country, the same location as Zoro's homeland in Oda's iconic series One Piece.
In fact, Ryuma himself has appeared in One Piece during the Thriller Bark arc and is one of Zoro's ancestors. So while a standalone tale, Monsters establishes a backstory for part of One Piece's expansive world.
