World of Warcraft SoD All Warlock Runes & Locations So Far

World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 1 will have 12 different runes for each of the classes in the game. We will be providing updates as soon as we have more information regarding the Priest runes and their locations. Given the incredible interest from players for WoW SoD, we will most probably find out a lot of new changes and content in Azeroth.

We will be taking a look at all of the runes and their locations so you can fully optimize your builds and find your unique playstyle in WoW Classic+. Let's get started!

WoW SoD Warlock Runes & Locations

Lake of Fire Rune - Chest

Rain of Fire also leaves a Lake of Fire on the ground that increases all Fire damage you deal and your Demon pet deals to affected enemies by 40% for 15 sec.

Lake of Fire Rune Locations

• Alliance & Horde: You will need to purchase Demolition Explosives from Zixil found traveling on the main road in the Hillsbrad Foothills. You will have to then travel to Durnholde Keep and use the item on the rubble pile (coordinates 80, 41) and loot the chest containing the rune.

Master Channeler Rune - Chest

Your Drain Life is no longer channeled, lasts 15 sec with a 15 sec cooldown, costs 100% more mana, and heals you for 50% more each time it deals damage.

Master Channeler Rune Locations

• Gnome: You will need to buy a Malevolent Pie from Greishan Ironstove in Loch Modan (coordinates 27.3, 61.9), and eat it to get the rune.
• Orc: You will have to stand on the Altar of Thorns in the Barrens (coordinates 58, 27) and siphon your life with the Health Funnel ability until your health reaches 0. You will be healed back to full and receive the rune.
• Undead: You will have to cast the Curse of Recklessness ability on a Sadistic Fiend located in a cave in the east of Silverpine Forest (coordinates 56, 45) and kill it to get the rune.
• Human: You will have to kill Drak Strand Fanatics located in Darkshore (coordinates 57, 25) to get the rune. 

Soul Siphon Rune - Chest

Increases the amount drained by your Drain Life and Drain Soul spells by an additional 6% for each of your Warlock Shadow effects afflicting the target, up to a maximum of 18% additional effect.

Soul Siphon Rune Locations

• Human: You will need to drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain an Innocent Shard. You will then have to drain Hogger to get a Wanted Shard. Once you have both shards, head to Damien Kane in the basement of the Goldshire Inn.
• Orc: You will need to drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain an Innocent Shard. You will then have to drain Gazz'uz to get a Wanted Shard. Once you have both shards, head to Darmak Bloodhowl at Razor Hill.
• Undead: You will need to drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain a Pure Shard. You will then have to drain Maggot Eye to get a Wanted Shard. Once you have both shards, head to Denton Bleakway in Undercity.
• Gnome: You will need to drain a critter with Drain Soul to obtain a Pure Shard. You will then have to drain [?] to get a Wanted Shard. Once you have both shards, head to Gaklik Voidtwist in Kharanos.

Demonic Tactics Rune - Chest

Increases the melee and spell critical strike chance of you and your pet by 10%.

Demonic Tactics Rune Locations

• Alliance: 

1. You will have to loot the Dead Acolyte near Jasperlode Mine (coordinates 56.8, 57.0).
2. You will then have to take the artifact to the Warlock trainer in Goldshire, and then return to the Dead Acolyte.
3. Once you use Powerless Artifact there, you will receive a Blood Offering. You will then have 10 minutes to run to Gakin the Darkbinder in Stormwind as he can give you the rune afterwards.

• Horde: 

1. You will have to loot the Dead Acolyte near Scarlet Monastery (coordinates 76.6, 44.4).
2. You will then have to take the artifact to the Warlock trainer in Brill, and then return to the Dead Acolyte.
3. Once you use Powerless Artifact there, you will receive a Blood Offering. You will then have 10 minutes to run to Carendin Halgar in Undercity as he can give you the rune afterwards.

Everlasting Affliction Rune - Legs

Drain Life, Drain Soul, Shadowbolt, Shadow Cleave, Searing Pain, Incinerate, and Haunt refresh the duration of your Corruption on the target back to its maximum duration.

Everlasting Affliction Rune Locations

• Alliance: This rune can be purchased from the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction for 4 Gold 50 Silver once Honored has been achieved.
• Horde: This rune can be purchased from the Durotar Supply and Logistics faction for 4 Gold 50 Silver once Honored has been achieved.

Incinerate Rune - Legs

14% of base mana 30 yd range
2.25-sec cast

Burn your enemy for (222/100*) to (258/100*) damage and increase all Fire damage you deal by 25% for the next 15 sec.

Incinerate Rune Locations

• Alliance & Horde: This rune drops from a Level 23 Elite Orc Incinerator Gar'im in a cave in the southeast area of the Redridge Mountains (coordinates 77, 85).

Demonic Grace Rune - Legs

Surge with fel energy, increasing your pet's and your own dodge chance by 30%, and your chance to critically strike with all attacks by 30%. Lasts 6 sec.

Demonic Grace Rune Locations

Make sure not to lose the tag on the summoning mob or you will need to farm the materials again to get the rune.

• Undead: 

1. You will need to obtain an Ominous Tome (dropped by skeletons in Agaman's Mill).
2. After that, you will need Gnoll Blood (dropped by any Gnoll in Garren's Haunt).
3. The final material you will need is Wolf Jawbone (dropped by any Darkhound in Tirisfal Glades).
4. Once you have all the items, head to the Sewers in Undercity and summon a demon you have to kill to get the rune. 

• Gnome: 

1. You will need to obtain an Ominous Tome (dropped by Frostmane Shadowcasters in Troll caves west of Brewnall Village).
2. After that, you will need Wendigo Blood (dropped by any Wendigo).
3. The final material you will need is Wolf Jawbone (dropped by any Wolf in Coldridge Valley).
4. Once you have all the items, head to Shimmer Ridge and summon a demon you have to kill to get the rune. 

• Orc:

1. You will need to obtain an Ominous Tome (dropped by Voodoo Trolls in Echo Isles).
2. After that, you will need Makrura Leg (dropped by any Makrura mob).
3. The final material you will need is Kul Tiran Skull (dropped by any Kul Tiran mob in Tiregarde Keep).
4. Once you have all the items, head to the summoning circle near Zalazane and summon a demon you have to kill to get the rune. 

• Human: 

1. You will need to obtain an Ominous Tome (dropped by Kobolds in Jasperlode Mine). After that, you will need Gnoll Blood (dropped by any Gnoll).
2. The final material you will need is Wolf Jawbone (dropped by any Prowler or Wolf).
3. Once you have all the items, head to the summoning circle at The Slaughtered Lamb Inn in the Mage Quarter in Stormwind and summon a demon you have to kill to get the rune. 

Demonic Pact Rune - Legs

Your pet's critical strikes apply the Demonic Pact effect to your party members for 45 sec. Demonic Pact increases spell damage and healing by 10% of your spell damage or (Level / 2), whichever is higher. Does not work on Subjugated demons.

Demonic Pact Rune Locations

• Alliance & Horde:

1. Head to Ratchet in the Barrens and speak with Grizzby located in the Inn. 
2. Collect the following materials in order to complete his quests: 

• 24x  Fish Oil (Murlocs and Naga from e.g. Hillsbrad Foothills).
• 20x  Dark Iron Ordinance (drops from Dark Iron Dwarfs in Wetlands).
• 16x  Shredder Turbocharger (Crafted by Engineering. Recipe is a drop from Sneed in Deadmines).

Metamorphosis Rune - Gloves

100% of base mana
Instant cast

Transform into a Demon, increasing Armor by 500%, reducing the chance you will be critically hit by 6%, increasing your threat by 50%, increasing mana gained from Life Tap by 100%, transforming the functionality of some of your abilities, and granting some new abilities:

Searing Pain: Now instant.

Shadow Bolt: Becomes Shadow Cleave, a Shadow melee attack that hits up to 3 nearby enemies, but has a 6 sec cooldown.

Fear: Replaced with Menace.

Taunts the target to attack you, but has no effect if the target is already attacking you.

Demon Charge

Charge an enemy and stun it for 1 sec.  Cannot be used in combat.

Demonic Howl

Forces all nearby enemies to focus attacks on you for 6 sec.

Metamorphosis Rune Locations

• Alliance & Horde: 
  

1. You will need to loot Orb of Des at the top of the Tower of the Ilgalar located in the Redridge Mountains.
2. You will then have to loot Bough of Altek at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx found in Darkshore.
3. You need to complete the quest The Orb of Soran'ruk. You can get it from Doan Karhan in the Barrens (coordinates 49, 57). For the quest you need to bring the following items to Doan Karhan:
         -  3x Soran'ruk Fragment: This item drops in the 10-man raid Blackfathom Deeps and outside the raid as well from outside the raid itself.
         -  Large Soran'ruk Fragment: This item drops in the Shadowfang Keep dungeon.
4. You will receive the follow-up quest The Conjuring.
5. For the quest, you need to collect 10x Blood of the Legion from demons at Demon Fall Ridge in the north of Ashenvale.
6. Then interact with the altar to start a ritual. Waves of demons will be summoned, which you must defeat with Drain Soul while standing in a purple rune.
7. You will receive the follow-up quest Mysterious Traveler. Turn in the quest in the Barrens.
8. You will receive the follow-up quest Raszel Ander, which will give you Metamorphosis.

Shadow Bolt Volley Rune - Gloves

Your Shadow Bolt now strikes up to 5 targets within a chain distance of 10 yards, but for 20% reduced damage.

Shadow Bolt Volley Rune Locations

• Gnome:

1. You will have to kill the Demonic Remains with a shadow spell in Loch Modan at the ruins (coordinates 72, 69).
2. You will then have to fight a demon that drops the rune.

• Human:

1. You will have to cast Drain Soul on Old Murk-Eye (he will drop the item Soul of the Sea) located on the coast of Westfall. 
2. Once you obtain the item, you will need to head to the Medusa Statue (coordinates 26, 70) and use the item. A level 20 mob will spawn that drops the rune once killed.

• Orc:

1.  You will have to cast Drain Soul on Supervisor Lugwizzle in the Barrens (coordinates 56, 9) to get the Soul of Greed.
2. You will then have to travel to a Hungry Idol (coordinates 57, 10) and use the item to get the rune.

• Undead:

1. You will need to kill enemies in Beren's Peril located in Silverpine Forest until a Tortured Soul drops.
2. Once obtained, use your Life Tap ability and then the item to summon a level 20 enemy. Once killed, you will get the rune from it.

Chaos Bolt Rune - Gloves

7% of base mana, 30 yd range
2.5 sec cast, 12-sec cooldown

Sends a bolt of chaotic fire at the enemy, dealing (*522/100) to (*662/100) Fire damage. Chaos Bolt always hits, cannot be resisted, and its knowledge causes all your Fire spells to pierce through absorption effects. Chaos Bolt gains a high chance to be resisted when used against monsters 4 or more levels above your level.

Chaos Bolt Rune Locations

Haunt Rune - Gloves

12% of base mana, 30 yd range
Instant cast, 12-sec cooldown

Unleash a ghostly soul on an enemy, dealing (*251/100) to (*295/100) damage, and increasing all Shadow damage over time you deal to that target by 20%. When the Haunt ends or is dispelled, you will be healed for all the damage it dealt to your target.

Haunt Rune Locations

• Orc: You will need to pick up the Stolen Power quest from Nartok and find a Waterlogged Stashbox under the water at the end of the cave (coordinates 42.9, 54.4) to get the rune.
• Undead: You will need to pick up The Lost Rune quest from Maximillion and find a Lost Stash in the spider cave (coordinates 24.6, 59.4) to get the rune.
• Human: You will need to pick up the Stolen Power quest from Drusilla La Salle and find the rune in a chest (coordinates 52, 52) to get the rune.
• Gnome: You will need to pick up the Stolen Power quest from Alamar Grimm and find the Rockjaw Footlocker (coordinates 26, 72) to get the rune.
