WoW Dragonflight Hotfix November 16: Heroic Fyrakk Buffs, Addon Distance Checking Bugged

Blizzard has added a new hotfix on November 16, 2023, to World of Warcraft Dragonflight Season 3. This hotfix is targeting two classes, changes to Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope, Dawn of the Infinite, Items, and User Interface. Heroic Fyrakk Buff

Developers’ notes: Both player feedback and data have indicated that Heroic Fyrakk doesn't pose as much of a challenge as we'd intended. We'd like Fyrakk to be a satisfying ending to Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope for the vast majority of players who have yet to encounter him, so we're making a few adjustments to the overall difficulty of the encounter.

• Burning Scales damage increased by 40%.
• There is now an additional occurrence of Blaze during Stage Three.
• Blaze damage increased by 40%.
• Damage from colliding with a Swirling Firestorm increased by 60%.

These changes will make the Raid Boss more challenging so players can feel slaying the boss much more rewarding than it previously was. Every raid in World of Warcraft should feel like an epic battle that you win despite all odds.

Fixed Issues with Classes

Some small changes to classes to allow for more intuitive and bug-free gameplay. World of Warcraft relies heavily on having great PvE and PvP experiences.

Monk

Mistweaver:

• Fixed an issue that caused Essence Font to fire one more bolt than intended per second channeled.

Developers’ notes: We’re aware of an issue that will cause Essence Font's tooltip to display an incorrect channel rate after this fix. This will be addressed in a future update.

Rogue

Assassination:     

• Fixed an issue that allowed Sanguine Blades' damage from vulnerability damage increases on enemies to be unintentionally doubled.
• Fixed an issue that allowed Poisoned Edges (Aberrus 2-piece set bonus) damage from vulnerability damage increases on enemies to be unintentionally doubled.

Community Reaction to Addon Issue

The hotfix also introduced the following change:

• Restricted addon functions that allowed for in-combat distance checking between players.

Many players are furious that their crucial addons have been messed with. Some are criticizing that due to the lack of clarity in regard to Mythic+ and Raids, WoW subscribers need to rely on third-party programs and addons to make the encounters fair and manageable. 

Developers’ notes: This change was intended to be implemented with the launch of the Guardians of the Dream patch, to avoid requiring that addon authors update their addons separately after the content is already being played. We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience.

It seems that the addon issues were intentional, but the lack of communication from Blizzard can impact the enjoyment of both casual and hardcore players in World of Warcraft.
