WoW Season of Discovery All Rogue Runes & Locations So Far

World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 1 will have 12 different runes for each of the classes in the game. We will be providing updates as soon as we have more information regarding the Priest runes and their locations. Given the incredible interest from players for WoW SoD, we will most probably find out a lot of new changes and content in Azeroth.

We will be taking a look at all of the runes and their locations so you can fully optimize your builds and find your unique playstyle in WoW Classic+. Let's get started!

WoW SoD Rogue Runes & Locations

Deadly Brew Rune - Chest

When you inflict any other poison on a target, you also inflict Deadly Poison.

If your weapon does not have a poison applied, it has a chance to trigger Instant Poison as if Instant Poison were applied.

Deadly Poison and Instant Poison now gain increased damage from your Attack Power.

Deadly Brew Rune Location

When you reach level 20 you will recieve the 'An Offer' letter, asking you to travel to  Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest. You will find a chest, which will give you 'The Horn of Xelthos' quest, in a hut just outside the ramp leading to Shadowfang Keep. Finish the quest, which will grant you Breaching Charge, then go back to Shadowfang Keep and enter the dungeon by yourself.

You will need to pick pocket the two rare elites mentioned for Sister's Half-Key and Brother's Half-Key, combined into Twin Key. Now you can go to the Stables, in the Courtyard close to the entrance, and use the key on the chest found there. You'll get the Horn of Xelthos wich needs to be turned in for the quest. You will shortly get another mail, which will then allow you to go back to that same hut with the chest to receive the Rune of Deadly Brew.

Just a Flesh Wound Rune - Chest

You take 20% reduced Physical damage while Blade Dance is active. Additionally, you have 6% reduced chance to be critically hit by melee attacks, the threat generated by all your actions is massively increased, and your Feint ability is replaced with Tease, which Taunts the target to attack you.

Just a Flesh Wound Rune Location

The Just a Flesh Wound Rune can be bought when you reach Honored with the new Supply Factions, Durotar Supply and Logistics for Horde players and Azeroth Commerce Authority for Alliance players.

Quick Draw Rune - Chest

Draw your ranged weapon and fire a quick shot at an enemy, causing normal ranged weapon damage and reducing the target's movement speed by 50% for 6 sec. Awards 1 combo point.
Quick Draw benefits from all talents and effects that trigger from or modify Sinister Strike.

Quick Draw Rune Location

• Human: In order to get the Quick Draw Rune you'll have to loot or pickpocket Treasure Map Fragments to create the Elwynn Treasure Map. It will reveal the treasure containing the rune (/way 89, 79).
• Dwarf: You'll have to pickpocket Treasure Map Fragments from Troggs, Leper Gnomes, Trolls and Dark Iron Spies in order to create the Dun Morogh Treasure Map.
• Night Elf: To get the Quick Draw rune, loot or pickpocket Treasure Map Fragments to create the Teldrassil Treasure Map, which will show you the way to a treasure in the hollow stump behind the building in Rutheran Village.
• Undead: Loot or pickpocket Treasure Map Fragments to create the Tirisfal Treasure Map. Once you have it you can find the treasure under the bridge in Tirisfal Glades (/w 52.9, 54.0).
• Orc and Troll: Pickpocket or loot pieces of the treasure map from Kultirans in Tirisgarde Keep, Burning Blade Cultists, Quilboar, and Trolls in Echo Isles. Then create the Durotar Treasure Map, helping you find the treasure in the southern most Echo Isles.

Slaughter from the Shadows Rune - Chest

Reduces the Energy cost of your Backstab and Ambush abilities by 20.

Engrave Gloves - Mutilate
Does not apply to Mutilate

Does not apply to abilities learned from other runes.

Slaughter from the Shadows Rune Location

• Night Elf: You'll have to defeat Furbolgs inside Banethil. Once you do you'll receive a key, which opens a chest located inside the Barrows.
• Forsaken: The rune is inside a chest in Tirisfal Glades at Agamand Family Crypt. The key to it can be looted from nearby mobs.
• Orc and Troll: Slaughter from the Shadows is located inside a chest in Durotar at Drygulch Ravine.

Between the Eyes  Rune - Legs

Ranged Finishing move that causes damage per combo point, increased by Attack Power, and Stuns the target:

  1 point:   [53 / 100 * ( + )] to [81 / 100 * ( + )] damage, 1 sec Stun
  2 points: [53 / 100 * ( +* 2)] to [81 / 100 * ( +* 2)] damage, 2 sec Stun
  3 points: [53 / 100 * ( +* 3)] to [81 / 100 * ( +* 3)] damage, 3 sec Stun
  4 points: [53 / 100 * ( +* 4)] to [81 / 100 * ( +* 4)] damage, 4 sec Stun
  5 points: [53 / 100 * ( +* 5)] to [81 / 100 * ( +* 5)] damage, 5 sec Stun

Cooldown shared with Kidney Shot.

Between the Eyes Rune Location

• Human: The rune is located in Cutthroat Alley in Stormwind. Head to the end of the alley and into the house, where, upstairs, next to the bed, you will find a chest. Once you open it  two level 10 enemies will spawn. Defeat them and you'll recieve Between the Eyes.
• Dwarf: Loot Between the Eyes from the Dusty Crate, found right outside of the Rogue trainer area in the Forlorn Cavern in Ironforge, to the right of the stairs in an alcove. Two Level 10 Cutthroats will try to stop you but you'll recieve the rune when you kill them.
• Undead: There's a chest  which can be found underwater (/w 65.9, 25.6). Pickpocket the key from any murloc in the area and you can collect the rune.

Blade Dance Rune - Legs

Fnishing move that increases your Parry chance.  Lasts longer and grants more Parry chance per combo point:

  1 point  : 14 seconds, 6% Parry
  2 points: 18 seconds, 7% Parry
  3 points: 22 seconds, 8% Parry
  4 points: 26 seconds, 9% Parry
  5 points: 30 seconds, 10% Parry

Blade Dance Rune Location

Mutilate - Gloves

Instantly attacks with both weapons for 100% weapon damage plus additional (100 / 100 *) with each weapon.  Damage is increased by 20% against Poisoned targets.  Awards 2 combo points.

Mutilate Rune Location

• Human: You'll have to pickpocket a note from Garrick Padfoot. Then go ahead and deliver it to Cutty who is located on the south side of the wall, just up the river from Crystal Lake, just south of Northshire.
• Night Elf: Multilate drops off of Lord Melenas in the cave north of Dolanaar.
• Forsaken: Pickpocket Captain Perrine. Take the signet ring and bring it to the Brill town hall to created a forged document. Return this document to Jamie Nore to receive Multilate.
• Orc and Troll: In order to get the Mutilate rune, you'll have to head to the stealth troll, Ba'so (/w 51,58) in Durotar. Pickpocket a note from the Burning Blade thugs above Razor Hill (/w 55,36). Turn it in to the troll.

Envenom Rune - Legs

Finishing move that deals instant poison damage based on your Deadly Poison doses on the target.  Following the Envenom attack you have a 75% increased frequency of applying Instant Poison for 1 sec plus an additional 1 sec per combo point. One dose is activated per combo point:
 1 dose:  [( * 100 / 100) * 1 + Attack power * 0.09] damage
 2 doses: [( * 100 / 100) * 2 + Attack power * 0.18] damage
 3 doses: [( * 100 / 100) * 3 + Attack power * 0.27] damage
 4 doses: [( * 100 / 100) * 4 + Attack power * 0.36] damage
 5 doses: [( * 100 / 100) * 5 + Attack power * 0.45] damage

Envenom Rune Location

Buy 'Hot Tip' from the vendor at Durnholde Keep in Hillsbrad Foothills, behind the building with Tog'thar there is a vendor. Follow the river North until you enter Western Plaguelands. There you will have to locate the a waterfall just before the lake with a Rusty Safe at the bottom (/way 59.4 84.6). It will contain the Envenom Rune.

Shadowstrike Rune - Gloves

Teleport behind your target and strike, causing 150% weapon damage to the target.  Must be stealthed.  Awards 1 combo point.

Shadowstrike Rune Location

• Human: Head to the outhouses near the vineyard in Northshire. You'll find Shadowstrike in a chest.
• Night Elf: The Shadowstrike rune is supposedly located on "the lowest roof".
• Orc and Troll: The rune can be gained from the quest  Atop the Cliffs. Open the chest directly adjacent to the spawning point iide Valley of Trials and you'll find Shadowstrike.

Shiv Rune - Gloves

Instantly attack with your off-hand weapon with a 100% chance to apply the poison from your off-hand weapon to the target. Slower weapons require more energy. Awards 1 combo point.

Shiv Rune Location

Pickpocket the Engraved Gold Ring from Defias Night Runner in Duskwood, south of Raven Hill Cemetery. Locate the statue in the middle of the Raven Hill Cemetery  (/way 19.9 45.5) and /kneel in front of it to get the Shiv Rune in SoD.

Main Gauche Rune - Gloves

Instantly strike with your off-hand weapon for normal off-hand weapon damage and increase your chance to parry by 10% for 10 sec.  Awards 1 combo point.

Main Gauche benefits from all talents and effects that trigger from or modify Sinister Strike.

Main Gauche Rune Location

You can buy the Main Gauche Rune in SoD from Grizzby.

Saber Slash Rune - Gloves

Viciously slash an enemy for 130% weapon damage, and cause the target to bleed for (Attack power * 5 / 100) damage every 2 sec for 12 sec, stacking up to 3 times.  Awards 1 combo point.

Saber Slash benefits from all talents and effects that trigger from or modify Sinister Strike.

Saber Slash Rune Location

• Alliance: In order to find the Saber Slash rune in SoD, head to the hill behind the Sentinel Hill Inn. There will be an Elite Defias Scout with an Escape Plan buff, which will cause them to flee if they sense danger. It's best to use stealth and Pickpocket him.
